Get a little wild.

Meet our keepers!

What does a keeper do to care for wild animals? Learn from our keepers themselves at Zookeeper Academy through keeper chats and a self-guided junior Zookeeper challenge!

Could YOU be a zookeeper?

Do the Junior Zookeeper Challenge and find out! Self-guided activities around the park include:

  • A balance beam - Keepers must be sure-footed to work in all kinds of terrain
  • Log rolling - Keepers must use their muscles to arrange "furniture" animal habitats to keep them new, fresh and exciting
  • Poo Pick Up - Not glamorous, but a vital part of the job
  • Diet Prep - Practice sorting proper diets for different animals
Study Trek’s Animals

Practice your observation skills while observing Trek’s animals! Participate in three different ethogram studies (the science of studying the behavior of animals) and be a keeper for the day! Then from 11am-2pm, visit the wetlands kitchen to learn what goes into prepping diets for the animals in our care.
