Fishers Released At Olympic National Park
Nov. 10: On Friday, November 5, federal, state, tribal and partner biologists released five fishers from Alberta, Canada into the lush, coastal forest near Lake Ozette, the latest event in a nearly two decades-long project to restore the native species to Washington State.

Animals Cool Off in the Recent Heatwave
Aug. 13: Animals at Northwest Trek and sister zoo Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium found ways to cool off in the heat, thanks to tubs of ice and spray hoses offered by thoughtful keepers.
Frogs Jump Into the Wild
Aug. 10: Northwest Trek partnered with other agencies to release hundreds of rare northern leopard frogs back into the Washington wild to help restore their endangered population.

July 22: After very close voting, fans have chosen the name of the new mountain goat kid at Northwest Trek: Nettle, after a plant found commonly in the Free-Roaming Area where she lives with her mom and herd.

Beloved moose Willow humanely euthanized
