From tour groups to school reunions, Northwest Trek is the place to be. Meet animals up close or gaze at them across a misty meadow. Chat with friends or family over a picnic lunch. And just breathe in that fresh Northwest air.

What We Offer

Our event facilities can accommodate up to 500 people in the partially covered picnic area. We offer special rates for group bookings of 15 or more if you make a reservation at least 15 days in advance.

Hellyer Center

Spend the day away from the hustle and bustle of the park’s public areas and nestled among the quiet canopy of Douglas firs. This exclusive facility provides privacy, serenity and unmatched views across Horseshoe Lake where animals roam freely. The Hellyer Center is available year-round during day and evening hours. AV equipment is available.

Picnic pavilion
Picnic Pavilion

Situated in the heart of the park, the Pavilion provides shelter for your guests with beautifully varnished extra-large picnic tables and plenty of additional picnic seating in the adjoining meadow. This is an ideal location for picnics, reunions, award ceremonies or late evening receptions. Heat available for chilly nights or days.

Capacity: 150 covered & 500 meadow

Date Restrictions

We don’t accept group reservations on Memorial Day weekend, Labor Day weekend, Slug Fest weekend or Hoot ‘n’ Howl weekend.

 

Facility Rentals

We have facilities that can seat 70 to 500 guests for company picnics, family reunions, meetings and more.

The Forest Cafe offers a warm, rustic atmosphere complete with a cozy gas fireplace. The Cafe may be reserved for after-hours catered events and provides seating for up to 70 people.

The Picnic Pavilion is covered, can be heated and seats up to 150 guests with beautifully varnished picnic tables and plenty of additional picnic seating in the meadow for larger groups of up to 500.

 

Meal Options

The Forest Cafe provides a great selection of food, from burgers and soups to sandwiches and kids’ meals. The sheltered picnic pavilion seats up to 150. There are several picnic tables in the meadow. We also offer catered meals for groups of 20 or more.

Lancer Catering is the exclusive caterer of Northwest Trek Wildlife Park and can cater functions for up to 500 people. Lancer supports the park’s sustainable practices by using local and organic products, adhering to the Monterey Bay Seafood Watch, reducing waste, and recycling.

Reservations for a catered meal are required a minimum of 15 days in advance of your visit and meal changes must be made within 7 business days of your visit.

Groups with a catering contract receive a special flat admission rate of $15.50 per person (2 and under free).

Reservation Instructions

If you are an accredited educational institution group, click here for field trip reservation information.

Use the form below to submit an online group reservation request form at least 21 days before your visit. Reservations are made on a first-come, first-served basis.

Payment must be received in our reservation office 14 days prior to your arrival date to allow for mailing of your tickets. You may pay by a single check, MasterCard, Visa or Discover transaction or single purchase order. If you use a purchase order, you will be billed immediately upon receipt. There are no refunds on prepaid tickets.

Northwest Trek requires at least one adult for every seven children for visiting youth groups. A penalty will be charged for groups not meeting this requirement.

All adult chaperones must be included in your final payment so that they will receive a ticket (wristband) to ride on your reserved tram.

Look for your confirmation letter and wristband tickets for your entire group in the mail, check it over and then you are set!
