We Conserve Wildlife
Since 1975, Northwest Trek Wildlife Park has been the best place to see native Northwest wildlife. But we're also dedicated to conserving that wildlife for our planet. We've been recognized for over 25 years of high standards by the Association of Zoos & Aquariums. And we protect wild habitats with earth-friendly practices.

Blakely and Oakley are 8-years-old and apple-bobbing champions. 🏆
It’s World Otter Day! River otters are otter-ly irresistible (duh-dum 🥁) and common in Washington State. They prefer habitats away from humans, in fresh or salt water, and with access to plenty of food.
A LOT of food. River otters digest and metabolize food very quickly. Within an hour, food has passed through their intestines and it’s lunch time again. 🦀🐟🦪

Check out these tiny fluff-balls bravely venturing into the water under their mother`s watchful lead!
Hooded merganser moms lead their chicks to water shortly after they hatch, sometimes up to a mile away from the nest. The chicks can swim and dive right after hatching, and the mother helps by carrying them on her back.

🐻 Our grizzlies go wild for puzzle feeders! 🧩 These interactive toys provide fun, mental stimulation, physical activity, and behavioral enrichment for our furry friends. It’s a tasty challenge they can’t resist! 🤎

These fluffy goats can float like clouds! ☁️ Mountain goats are powerful but nimble and can jump nearly 12 feet in a single bound. 🐐

Rescued moose calves Atlas, Luna, and Callisto love the water! 🫎 Moose are excellent swimmers and are known to be able to paddle through water at speeds of up to 6 mph. Moose have a specially designed nose that acts as a built-in snorkel, allowing them to submerge underwater.
