Gift Shop Volunteers
Gift shop volunteers are an important part of the visitor support services team, which works to ensure our visitors have the best possible experience when they are here.
Description:
Assist gift shop staff in cleaning, sales, stocking and inventory of merchandise.
Duties:
- Receives and unpacks merchandise and supplies.
- Prices merchandise.
- Dusts, vacuums and arranges displays.
- Assists with quarterly inventory.
Qualifications:
- 18 years and older
- Pleasant personality, neat and clean appearance and punctuality.
Commitment:
Available on a regular weekly basis for a minimum of four hours or as arranged with supervisor. As needed basis for cleaning, inventory and other tasks.
Special Events Volunteer
Special event volunteers assist our staff in providing additional activities both on- and off-site.
Description:Professionally represents the park at both on-site and off-site activities and functions.
Duties:
- Represents the park at various off-site trade shows, fairs, festivals and special events by being stationed at an information booth.
- Assists with various on-site Trek special events including: directing visitors, leading craft sessions, assisting staff.
Qualifications:
- 14 years of age or older
- Neat and clean appearance
- Ability to carry out oral and written instructions
- Commitment to relating information correctly, clearly and in a pleasant manner
- Ability to work well with staff members
- Pleasant personality
- Ability to work independently
Knowledge and Abilities:
- Ability to work well with all age groups
- Ability to speak clearly and correctly
- Excellent ability to interact with the public
- Organizational skills
- Ability to learn and demonstrate craft skills
Commitment:
Available for three to four hour shifts at numerous on-site and off-site functions as a Northwest Trek representative.
