Train to Trek is a one-of-a-kind experience for both wildlife enthusiasts and train aficionados. Enjoy a full day of history and fun in the outdoors!

Board a vintage train in Tacoma for a leisurely trip to and from Northwest Trek. On board, you'll hear from expert naturalists and railway historians while the kids enjoy unique wildlife activities.

Please note:  Train to Trek event dates do require a minimum number of 80 participants in order to be held.  The cut-off date for that decision is one week prior to event so there is sufficient time for our customers to make alternative plans for their weekend.

Your day on the Train to Trek
8:00           Check-in begins adjacent to Freighthouse Square in downtown Tacoma
8:45           Last boarding call
9:00           Train departs
11:00         Arrive in Eatonville and board buses
11:30        Arrive at Northwest Trek
1:00          Tram tour

3:00           Board buses to return to Eatonville
3:30           Train departs for return trip
5:30           Arrive in Tacoma
