How your gifts are used

Your tax-deductible gifts enable Northwest Trek to add new programs and exhibits, upgrade old ones, purchase new equipment, increase its conservation and research efforts, and move ahead in various ways beyond normal operations and maintenance. Because Trek needs to work on new projects in an organized fashion, unrestricted gifts are most useful, as they can be used where needed most when received.

However, you will also find examples throughout this section of how restricted gifts can help Trek, whether a gift is large enough to take care of a purchase by itself or is directed to an ongoing program, such as the Animal Sponsorship Program or the Northwest Trek Conservation Program (NWTCP) When in doubt as to the best purpose for your gift, please contact Keriann Cockrell at 360-832-7182 or Keriann.Cockrell@nwtrek.org

Thank you for considering a gift. Here are some examples from the Master Plan in progress of how your unrestricted gift might be used, depending on when it is received:

  • New presentations and outreach programs, both on-site and off-site;
  • New exhibits and exhibition gallery;
  • Enhanced Free-Roaming Area experience;
  • New raptor exhibit;
  • Kids' Corner;
  • Enhanced Forest and Wetland exhibit;
  • Overnight group camp;
  • Backcountry camping;
  • Hosting small conventions and retreats;
  • Expanded wildlife conservation and research;
  • Tour group programs;
  • Site identity enhancements.
